2 MOMS. 2 SOULS. 1 GOAL.
2 MOMS.
The 2 moms - that would be Imani and Ronda. These cousins started Janis Jean in the floor of Ronda's apartment in March of 2019, after recognizing they yearned a purpose greater than their weekday 9 to 5s. At the time, their goal was to create clothing for themselves and their sons, but quickly realized after naming the business after their late grandmother's, that a greater purpose was at play.
Both women quote themselves as being the yin to each other's yang, and celebrate and honor each other's differences and unique identities. Those very differences continue to guide Janis Jean as a diverse, full encompassing, fully embracing black led, women led enterprise.
2 SOULS.

Janis Karen Madison Hunter

Jean Bell Smith
Janis Karen Madison Hunter and Jean Bell Smith are the late grandmothers of Imani and Ronda. These powerhouse women were beyond impactful on the women, mothers and business women Imani and Ronda grew to be.
"Here's to strong women. May we know them, may we be them, may we raise them.” - Ada Lovelace
May Janis and Jean both rest in eternal piece.
